About us

Established in May of 2023, initially named ‘Lala Sparx Aerial’ under the founder, Cayla’s, stage name.

It started as a hobby in a single garage teaching friends to share the love of pole dancing and soon grew into a budding little community.

After going from one pole to two and it was then decided to give RAD its own identity and a very clear purpose.

It is of the utmost importance to us at RAD that the world of aerial should be inclusive to everyone!

Every student should feel seen and safe, in an environment that facilitates steady and progressive learning. This world can feel unfair, anyone can feel overlooked or left behind – we are making it our mission, our purpose to give each person the opportunity of a fair playing field.

We leave nothing up to guessing, you will be given clear guidelines to follow within class (and outside of it if you want a bit extra), you will know when you are leveling up and you will be celebrated. 

As you become more accomplished in class, as you gain independence in your journey, our hope is that feeling follows you and you have the confidence to take on anything life throws at you.

A lover of being upside down with an incurable illness of not being able to take herself seriously and just absolutely passionate about sharing this amazing world with others.

Cayla began her pole journey at a fellow Gqeberha studio, Artemis Aerial Arts, in 2020. The pandemic interrupted her journey for a time but did nothing to quell her fire. as soon as she was able she was back on the pole and it wasn’t too long after that she added lyra and silks with Varie to her list of obsessions..

Sharing her love of pole and aerial was but a hobby reserved for her family and friends in her home. Little did she know those sessions would change the course of her life forever.. And it’s only the beginning!

Varie Anderson (aka V de Milo)

Instructor of instructors, mentor and incredible aerialist, her list of qualifications require a ‘read more’ button.

Varie is a multi-skilled international aerial artist and pole performer whose love of the aerial arts began in 2007 when she discovered pole dancing in her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, and she has been performing and teaching ever since. 

Varie moved to Bristol, England, in 2008 and soon started working as Head Instructor at Spin City Aerial Fitness. She began training aerial silks in late 2008 and aerial hoop soon followed. 

Varie founded Hidden Talent Aerial Dance and Acrobatics, Macau’s first pole and aerial studio, in 2012. She also consulted for the Dragone Macau show TABOO, and MGM Grand Paradise, Macau. 

In addition to performing and teaching, Varie also co-founded the UK’s most successful pole dancing competition, the UK Professional Pole Championships, and ran the competition from 2011 to 2018. 

Varie is an international pole and aerial competition judge, and also provides consulting services for competition organizers.
